ABOUT ME
I have always had a real love of horses and have been able to make a connection with all the horses I have encountered in my life and work. I was lucky enough to have my first pony at the age of 10. She was a five-year-old mare and I learned a lot during our joint training, both at home and with various instructors. We competed in all Pony Club events, including eventing, area show jumping and showing classes, and we always had an excellent dressage score and won many competitions. Later, my next pony, who was older and more experienced, took me and my riding to another level. We competed in Area Pony Club and Riding Club events with great success in all areas.
I attended Hartpury College to complete a National Diploma in Equine Management and at the same time achieved my Stage One and Stage Two British Horse Society qualifications. My first instructor position was at Wimbledon Village Stables, a British Horse Society Training Center in south west London, where I stayed for five years and gained much valuable teaching experience as well as schooling and bringing on a variety of horses and ponies. I built up a number of private clients and also ran my own courses, building confidence through natural effective riding. Testimonial page
After London I returned to the Cotswold's, where I worked at Greenhill Equitation, a British Horse Society approved livery and competition yard, owned by Natalie Rozard, on the edge of the beautiful Cirencester Park. Following that I decided to expand my knowledge and head out to North Carolina where I worked for four months at Camp Greystone, a Christian camp for girls, teaching ages from 10 to 16. I also schooled and bought on the younger horses and ponies. Following this, my next position involved sole charge of a family yard of five horses and ponies, all hunting, eventing and competing on most weekend so I had to keep the horses fit and well schooled in all disciplines for the whole family.
My training continued at the prestigious Talland school of Equitation, where I was fortunate enough to win a bursary and achieve my Intermediate Teach Test and my Stage 4 riding. I decided after this that I wanted to set up my own business teaching and schooling for people on a freelance basis.
Currently I am studying in-hand classical dressage with Marijke de Jong to add to my constant learning and interest in all things equine.
I now have a wealth of clients who I very much enjoy working with, whether teaching, riding or competing. My aim is to inspire confidence though natural effective riding.
